2011 Billfisheries of the Year – #9 (Tie) South Florida The Keys
The Billfish Report is counting down its Top 10 Billfisheries of the Year, and coming in at #9 (Tie) is South Florida and The Keys. Criteria for our Top 10 include fish numbers, variety of billfish species, average size of fish and length of season.

We had some nice fish reported to us in November from all over the world. In total, we had 66 Marlin over 500 lbs reported, with the majority (38) coming to us from the Great Barrier Reef. Dragin Fly Wins Los Suenos
Los Suenos, CR – It went right down to the wire, with Dragin Fly releasing a last minute fish to take the lead and ultimately win. 16 Boats participated and released 190 Billfish over the 4 Day Tournament, including 151 Sailfish and 39 Marlin.
1,169 Sailfish Released in the ILTTA
Guatemala – If you were wondering were to catch a Pacific Sailfish, you may want to remember to add Guatemala to your list. 30 Boats fished all four days of this Tournament to release 1,169 Sailfish. That is a 39 fish average per boat!

ILTTA Guatemala – Day 2
Guatemala (ILTTA) Day 2 - Thirty (30) Boats released 313 Sailfish to continue the great fishing from Day 1. Canazo followed up their 22 Sailfish Day 1 with 14 Sailfish on Day 2 to take Top Boat. Rafael Martinez takes over as the Top Angler with 17 Sailfish.

ILTTA Guatemala – Day 1
Guatemala (ILTTA) Day 1 - We can only hope that fishing continues to be this good. Twenty-Nine (29) Boats released 382 Sailfish (13-Fish per Boat Average) to show why Guatemala is considered the Sailfish Capital of the World. Top boat was Decisive with 26 Sailfish released.
